Introduction
As all will remember Germany is the country that
started the Second World War. The German language to survivors may bring
thoughts of horror and unpleasant experiences, however this may not always be
the case. The world sees the German language as the hallway to a very vast
cultural heritage. The language itself is so widely regarded such that many
formal establishments including several North American Universities highly
recommending the German language as a field of study. Many sciences are
connected to the German language in one way or another which makes learning the
German language important
in mastering these sciences. As such German interpreting helps by
translating these books in a country’s native language. From this it is
important to note that translating materials from one language to another
especially when doing so for academic purposes may sometimes be crude and will
require sufficient knowledge of the dialect before a reasonable translation is conducted.
Revealing the
Truth Using the German Language
The Second World War has generated many different
opinions amongst different countries with the German’s having their own. Some
believe that the Nazi’s were trying to rid the world of Jews because they think
that the Jews were unfit to live. Others believe that the eradication of the
Jews was the result of Germany’s conquest for land. With many opinions and
views expressed over the years is it not right to speak to the actual people
who experienced the war whether fighting in Hitler’s army or simply the victims
of the war. With that Germanin terpreting may reveal to the people the truth. The majority of soldiers
or civilians who experienced the war first hand only speak the German language.
It is best to hear from them directly because the media may manipulate what the
soldiers have said as well as what the public’s views on the war were at that
particular time.
The German
Language – One of the Major Languages of the World
The German language itself is considered as one of the
major languages of the world. It is estimated that around 98 million people
speak German as their native language further emphasising its importance to the
world as a substantial amount of the world’s history centres around Germany.
Furthermore, the German language is directly derived from the Latin and Greek languages
which further increase the number of people capable of speaking it.
One point to note is that the German language is
unique compared to other languages because it is written using Latin letters
and with three vowels. The German language is part of the West Germanic
languages alongside the English and the Dutch language. The West Germanic
languages are the largest among the three branches of the Germanic language and
therefore are the most spread languages in the world. From this, German interpreting companies hope to
train individuals who are inclined with the German tongue to close the gap brought
about by language barriers to pave the way for better understanding. Maybe so
the question as to why the second world war was started can somehow be
answered!
